Parmarth Niketan Walk

Located on the banks of the Ganges River, is the ashram known as Parmarth Niketan. Like monasteries, ashrams are places for spiritual retreat. On the banks of the river, it has a 14-foot-tall statue of Lord Shiva. It offers the ideal blend of contemporary conveniences with profound spirituality with lovely gardens, sculptures, and a spiritual environment.

The Sacred River Walk

The Ganga Aarti, a gathering on the banks of the Ganges River where people sing bhajans and give adoration to the revered river, is the highlight of this walk. Bhajans are songs of adoration and praise that are offered to a deity.

Ramanas Garden Walk

Ramana’s Garden is a children’s refuge home and school. Ramana’s was founded by Prabhavati Dwabha for Indian and Nepalese children at risk of poverty and abuse. Approximately 70 kids live full time and more than 200 kids attend school here.

The Beatles Ashram Walk

In the year 1963, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi founded the ashram. He was credited for creating and spreading transcendental meditation. The Liverpool-based Beatles band visited this ashram in 1968 and learned meditation under Maharishi.

Yoga Niketan Walk

The ashram was founded in the year 1964 by Yogeshwarananda Saraswati Maharaj. At the age of fourteen he had left home and lived a life of austerity in the Himalayas with a focus on self realization. His specialization was in Raja Yoga.

Can we take photographs?

Yes; you can take photographs. In some locations photography may not be permitted

Anything else to keep in mind?

Some of our tours include walking for miles, while others involve an uphill and downhill trek. Wear comfortable clothes and bring enough water and other supplies while participating in these tours.

At some temples, you may need to remove your shoes before entering.

We had a wonderful time on our walking tour of Rishikesh with Mithilesh. He is knowledgeable, friendly and helped get us around. The visits to the Beatles Ashram, Parmarth Niketan and Bhootnath Temple were all memorable. It was truly an enjoyable day
